Benjamin N. Brown

Benjamin N. Brown served in the Korean War and then enjoyed a varied and fascinating career as an international businessman and diplomat in Africa, the Middle East and Europe.  For the last 25 years of his life he lived in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, almost within walking distance of the Brandywine battlefield. Ben passed away in 2024.

He is the author of:

  • Uniforms of the American Revolution, the definitive guide to the units and uniforms of all forces involved in the American Revolutionary War (including the Spanish, who knew?)
  • Imperial Colours, the ultimate cross-reference in the terminology of the ornate uniforms of the British, French and German military uniforms of the 1800s. Available only in physical form (for now), please contact us for signed author copies.  At some point it may be released in the open market but the work is so detailed that it does not easily convert to Amazon-friendly formats.
